Another day, another chance for a celebrity to get totally torn to shreds on Twitter.

In the hot seat today is Andrew Garfield who is facing major backlash after fans got wind of his interview with Out magazine in which he said he was “a gay man… just without the physical act.”

“Every Sunday I would have eight friends over and we would just watch [RuPaul],” he said to the mag. “I mean every single series of RuPaul’s Drag Race. I mean every series. This is my life outside of [work]. I am a gay man right now just without the physical act — that’s all.”

The 33-year-old is currently starring in the Tony Kushner play Angels in America — a show focusing on the AIDS epidemic and other LGBTQ issues — in which he plays a gay man who feels conflicted with being Jewish and homosexual. The Internet quickly erupted after his comments regarding his sexuality came to light.

“I adopt the parts I like about gay culture without dealing with any of the consequences of living as gay!” one Twitter user wrote, while another quipped, “This article grosses me out. [You’re] a talented guy, but seem to be completely oblivious to what is coming out of [your] mouth.”

The Amazing Spider-Man star did confirm later in the interview that he is not, in fact, actually gay.

“As far as I know, I am not a gay man,” he said. “Maybe I’ll have an awakening later in my life, which I’m sure will be wonderful and I’ll get to explore that part of the garden, but right now I’m secluded to my area, which is wonderful, as well.”

Andrew has yet to respond or apologize for the remarks.

We guess this is just another celebrity joke that has fallen very very flat…
