Amy Duggar — who is now Mrs. King — may have the earned the reputation as the “Rebel Duggar,” but she insists she’s not actually that rebellious!
That said, she also knows she’s a far cry from her ultra-religious cousins of 19 Kids and Counting fame.
In an extremely candid new interview, the 29-year-old newlywed isn’t holding anything back — when it comes to her family, premarital sex and nearly everything in between!
“I think kissing before marriage should happen,” Amy tells People. “What if you get married and then that connection isn’t there?”
The self-described “serial dater” says she dated about six guys before marrying her now-husband Dillon King.
While neither the bride nor groom were virgins on their wedding day, the aspiring singer says they waited until they exchanged vows to do the deed with each other.
“I think that if I was a virgin on my wedding night and had never been kissed, I would end up rocking in the corner! That is so much emotion all at once,” Amy says.
While her journey has been vastly different than her cousins’, she has nothing but love for them — and she makes it clear the feelings are mutual.
“They’re very, very accepting,” she explains. She adds of cousins Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald, “They’re beautiful girls. They try to help as many people as they can and they’re really loving and believe what they’re doing is right.”
