For most brides, her wedding day is all about her and the person she’s about to commit her life to — but not Amy Duggar.
The 28-year-old (who tied the knot to longtime beau Dillon King over the weekend) made time for someone else on her big day: Her cousin Josh’s wife, Anna, who — in the words of the bride — looked “beautiful,” despite dealing with her husband’s ongoing cheating scandal.

“I gave her the biggest hug ever when I first saw her,” the new Mrs. King tells People. The two had a special moment before the ceremony. Amy adds, “That’s when I got the most emotional. I can’t imagine what she’s been through. I would be a disaster.”
Josh’s oldest daughter, five-year-old Mackynzie, was a flower girl, and Amy went out of her way to make sure not only Anna, but also Josh’s mother, Michelle, were happy despite the family’s ongoing woes.
“I gave Aunt Michelle a gift certificate for her favorite restaurant so she and Uncle Jim Bob can have a really sweet date night,” Amy gushes.
“And I felt like Anna needed to be pampered so I got her a mani-pedi certificate to a nail salon. I feel like she needs that.”
While the bride showering others in gifts may seem unusual, it was important to Amy that Anna and Josh's immediate family came to her wedding during this difficult time for them — and she wanted to make sure her relatives knew that.
“They’ve been through so much and it means the world to me that they want to come to my wedding even though their whole world is turned upside down right now,” she says.
