Amber Portwood Supports Maci Bookout and Catelynn Lowell Amid ‘Teen Mom OG’ Drama (EXCLUSIVE)
It was a hard season for the Teen Mom OG stars — and Amber Portwood is here for support! In an exclusive interview with In Touch, the pregnant star opened up about being a friend to co-stars Maci Bookout and Catelynn Lowell in their times of need. Maci is currently dealing with ex Ryan Edwards‘ substance abuse woes, while Cate was open this season about her mental health woes.
When asked about Ryan and Maci, Amber explained, “With things like that, you don’t stick your nose in it too much. You don’t want to be in people’s business like that, really. If they come to you, great, but I really just hope that everything is going good and whatever needs to happen happens. Maci is a smart woman, so when she does something it’s for a reason. I’m always behind her in whatever she does. Same with her with me.”
However, it sounds like things are different when it comes to Catelynn’s situation. “We’ve always talked about things like that together since we met. We have a lot in common. I knew about some of the stuff beforehand, I just didn’t know how bad. We’ve talked about things before because she really understood things I was going through. I know how it feels. I know where she’s coming from,” the Marriage Boot Camp Reality Stars: Family Edition star shared.
Fans of the MTV reality series know that one OG won’t be back next season — cast nemesis Farrah Abraham. Amber insisted the show is “doing good” without her around, and while they’ve had differences in the past, there is no bad blood today. “What’s done was done and we’re all just moving on with our lives, making money and trying to be happy. I’m happy with it,” she said.
