She may have scored supervised visits, but if you ask Andrew Glennon, Amber Portwood isn’t actually that interested in seeing her son. After the Teen Mom OG father took to Instagram to slam trolls asking questions about a mystery woman spotted in one of his photos, he’s continued to interact with fans and haters alike. On Wednesday, September 4, those comments shed some light on his current relationship with his ex — and on his ex’s relationship with their child. According to the father, things aren’t going well, and now he’s claiming that Amber even “stood up” son James so that she could film the Teen Mom reunion. Ever since they split following their alleged domestic violence incident on the 4th of July, Andrew, 35, and Amber, 29, haven’t spoken. When the father got sole custody of their son — and a no-contact order against his ex — that only escalated.

Despite the legal roadblocks preventing Amber from reaching out to her ex or seeing her son on her own terms, her ex claims she hasn’t even tried to better their situation or make amends.

The father claimed she’s “grasping for any forgivable explanation to her own actions when there was none” and trying to shift the blame rather than taking responsibility, remarking that she’s shown the same behavior “in past incidents.”

As a couple, the the two are definitely “done,” but Andrew claimed to Us Weekly that he still wants to coparent. “[Amber] is in total control of the future of this relationship,” he said.

He’s also working hard to make sure that James remembers his mom. “He sees photos of her every day, smells her smells and plays with toys they loved to play with,” he continued. But he doesn’t think Amber is doing her part.

After the MTV mom’s interview from the Teen Mom reunion aired, her ex took to social media to address fans questions, criticisms and concerns about how exactly their relationship had played out.

Slamming Hate

Andrew wasn’t afraid to call his ex out. “She looked very proud in that hate-fueled ‘interview’ … which she stood James up to go and do,” he said in one comment. “Actions speak volumes. I pray one day she gets the help she needs and finds her own happiness in life.”

He also lamented the fact that he wasn’t invited to film a segment for the show, noting that his ex had been given a platform to question the necessity of his 911 text while he hadn’t been able to defend himself.

Though a fan pointed out that reunion host Dr. Drew was a medical professional, the father fired back, “And what did you learn from the ‘professionals’? … I wish I were asked to give an interview with Dr. Drew. Wouldn’t that be fair?”

Responding to another comment that suggested he shouldn’t tell his side on social media, he continued, “Want to give me an interview on national TV? Where do you propose I talk about the abusive I’ve endured for over a year?”

Finding Help

“[Or] should I just keep it locked up inside?” he wrote. “The support that people give helps me through each day. They remind me of all that is good and right in the world. So yes, [talking about it online] does help my situation.”

Switching Perspectives

He also responded to fans’ comments that suggested that he should give Amber another chance, shooting down that suggestion when he seemed to say that she hadn’t earned one yet.

“If it were the other way around, I would take my medication,” he said, putting himself in Amber’s shoes. “I’d also be on my knees begging for my family back and doing everything in my power to seek professional help so it would never happen to those I love ever again.”

“I liked us together, too,” he told a fan, “but I will never enter that abuse again, and I will always pray she get the help and health she needs.”

Moving On

For now, he’s ready to leave Amber in his romantic past — though don’t believe the claims that he’s got a new woman lined up just yet. When a fan commented that his ex said he’s already got a new girl, he wrote back, “Amber says a lot of things.”
