Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell and More ‘Teen Mom’ Stars Support Amber Portwood in Court

Legal Troubles

Amber, 29, had a full support system with her while appearing in Marion County Court on July 25. The reality star was there for a hearing, following her arrest for domestic battery against Andrew on July 5.

Support System

Maci, Cheyenne, Catelynn and Gary showed up for the important hearing. Amber’s mom, Tonya, was also present, as well as Teen Mom OG producers.

Court Victory

It looks like things are finally starting to look up for the reality star, as the no-contact order has been lifted, meaning she will be able to see her son again soon.

Update Revealed

“She has supervised visits only for the child,” the clerk told Radar. A judge sided with Amber, despite the state’s objections to having the no-contact order lifted. The order involving her ex still remains in place.

Showing Love

Catelynn recently took to Twitter and explained why she’ll be sticking by Amber’s side through thick and thin. “There is always two sides to every story … u r only hearing one side sooo I love you @AmberLPortwood I’m on my way to you now,” she wrote.

Overcoming Obstacles

“I DO NOT condone abuse! I AM supporting a friend in need! That’s what friends are for,” the MTV alum added.

Sticking Together

Catelynn also noted how Amber was there for her during her own tough times. “When I went through all my crazy mental illness stuff my friend helped, me supported me, and loved me,” she wrote. “I’m going to do the same!”

Family Life

Amber is the proud mom of two children, James, shared with Andrew, and a 10-year-old daughter named Leah, shared with her ex, Gary, who showed up at court.

Releasing a Statement

After the reality star’s arrest in early July, Gary took to Twitter with a thoughtful message. “My prayers are with @AmberLPortwood , Andrew and most importantly baby James,” he wrote at the time.

Clearing the Air

“Idk any of the particulars, however I’m thinking of them,” Gary added. “And for all the questions and concerns Leah was/is currently camping with her best friend.”

Altercation Details

After a heated dispute with her boyfriend at their Indiana home, Amber was charged with one count of domestic battery, a felony count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and a felony count of domestic battery.

Turmoil at Home

Amber and Andrew reportedly argued because he couldn’t get through traffic to see fireworks on July 4. “When they returned home, she hit him with a shoe while he held their son. He left so Portwood could cool off,” according to Radar.

Amber allegedly later threatened to kill herself and “took a handful of Klonopin,” but “regurgitated the pills” when Andrew said he was going to call the police.

Battle Continues

Afterwards, “She hit the door with the machete and kicked the door and broke the handle,” the report read. Amber denied taking the pills and using a machete, but admitted to hitting him with a shoe while he was holding their son.

Looking ahead, Amber and Andrew will have to return to court on Thursday, August 22, for a custody hearing.
