Amanda Peterson Dead: ‘Can’t Buy Me Love’ Actress Passes Away at 43
Can’t Buy Me Love actress Amanda Petersen has died, TMZ reports.
The publication broke the news after speaking to her father. He confirmed her body was found in her Greeley, Colo., home on July 5, two days after the family last heard from her.
Though a cause of death has yet to be determined, Amanda’s dad says, “She had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed.” Additionally, he tells TMZ she had been living in a home with mold, but moved out about a year ago.
Sources tell the publication the former actress has dealt with multiple illnesses over the past couple of years, including pneumonia, sinusitis and sleep apnea.

Amanda was best known for her role as popular girl Cindy Mancini in 1987 romantic comedy opposite Patrick Dempsey. She also starred in 1989’s Listen to Me, and made a guest appearance on Doogie Howser, M.D.
She last starred in 1994’s Windrunner, before retiring from Hollywood for good that same year.
Amanda is survived by her second husband, David Hartley, and her two children.
