Free to do what they want! 90 Day Fiancé star Paola Mayfield shared her thoughts on anti-vaxxers on Thursday, May 9, via her Instagram Stories. The TV personality welcomed her son, Axel, with her husband, Russ Mayfield, on January 1. Since then, she decided to get candid with her fans about her son’s first vaccination, even though some of her followers didn’t support her decision. Scroll through the gallery below to see what she recently said about the controversial topic.
After they welcomed their newborn baby into their lives, Russ thanked his fans for their kind words. “What an amazing feeling to be overwhelmed with joy. We would like to introduce to you Axel Mayfield,” he wrote on Instagram on January 3. “He is already taking after his father and is such a cute, sweet and calm little boy. Axel was born on January 1, 2019, at 12:22 a.m., measuring 22 inches in length and weighing in at 7 lbs and oz. This has been the HAPPIEST NEW YEAR we have ever experienced.”

Growing Up So Quickly
Since then, the brunette beauty has posted several precious pictures of her little boy. “Activate four months!” her hubby, 31, wrote on May 1. “Axel has grown so much and learns so much more as each day passes. He has so much energy, and his personality brings ur so much joy when he blurts out his coos. We can’t get enough of you, baby!”

Getting Real
On March 4, the new mama wrote a candid post on Instagram about vaccinating Axel. “My baby boy had his first vaccination today,” she wrote at the time. “Axel was so brave, just like his mommy. @RussMayfield has been reading The Vaccine Book by Dr. Sears. We have decided that we want to give our son specific vaccinations and avoid potential risks and side effects.”

So Proud
Paola added, “He didn’t cry much, and I had my boob ready for him. That helped a lot!”

Haters Gonna Hate
However, followers immediately commented disagreeing with her actions. “Oh great. Another person using their platform for pseudoscience,” one person wrote.

So Annoyed
A second person responded, writing, “As the mother of a baby with cancer, let me just say what a selfish choice you are making. “Not to mention the fact that you literally CAN’T do your own research on vaccines. You are putting your child and those who are immunocompromised at risk. You should be ashamed of yourselves.”

Positive Vibes Only
A third user fumed, writing, “Just ignorant — clearly vaccinations are in place for a season. … Good you know best, though! Reality TV/model/doctor! People that think NOT giving kids vaccinations ‘protects them’ [are] very ignorant. You don’t ‘catch’ autism. … Wish there was a vaccination for stupid people! Here in Canada, you can prolong vaccinations. However, children will be suspended from school if the vaccinations are not up to date. Good luck!”

Epic Clapback
The TLC starlet came out on top, though. “Certain people tend to be nasty about anything I do, so I’m used to dealing with this, lol,” she commented.

Sharing Her Thoughts
On Thursday, May 10, the Colombia native made her feelings very clear about anti-vaccination. “They have the right to choose what they want and what they feel is safe for their loved ones without being judged! I’m not anti-vax, but believe me, I will do my research before putting something in my little one!”

Her True Self
This isn’t the first time the 31-year-old has had to deal with haters, either. Paola isn’t afraid to be authentic and share breastfeeding snaps. “It’s crazy and amazing how you can love someone so much. #babyAxel #wherethewildthingsare #mylittlechunkymonkey #exclusivelybreastfeeding #normalizebreastfeeding,” she wrote in a sweet photo.

No Love
Naturally, people rained on her parade. “She loves being naked. The baby is used as an accessory!!! She is the most attention seeking woman of 90 Day Fiancé. Oh, and her husband was so upset about that first shoot, now she shows everything,” an Instagram user vented.

Bringing Her Down
Another echoed, “Everything has to be a photo op for her. Such a narcissist. The kid is just used as a prop.”

They’ve Got Her Back
Thankfully, her loyal followers stepped in and showered Paola with love. “Thanks for making this a ‘normal’ thing to do. After all, it is totally natural. Mothers shouldn’t feel awkward or worst yet, alienated for feeding their child! Breastmilk is the best thing for them, and it’s not always possible to go hide in a corner when you’re out in public,” one wrote.

Doting Mother
Despite the backlash, Pao seems to be enjoying motherhood. “I didn’t know the meaning of true love until I met you. How can you love someone so much? These past few days have been a learning process. I try not to listen [to] unsolicited advice from people unless I ask for it,” she wrote on January 13. “I will be the best mother I can be for my son, but I’m doing it my way.”

A New Chapter
She continued, “The day my baby was born, I too was born a new mother. Thank you for all the love, you guys are amazing, and I’m so happy that I’m able to share this new chapter of my life with all of you. I won’t be posting a ton of pictures of my baby as I don’t want to drive you crazy with so much cuteness.”
