90 Day Fiancé star Mike Eloshway was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty on two charges of child pornography in the Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division.

Eloshway, 40, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Patricia Gaughan to 10 years and one month in prison, followed by 10 years of strict post-prison supervision that includes monitoring his computer activity, according to Cleveland.com. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Eloshway told the court that he “unknowingly” downloaded thousands of child pornography images during large batch downloads of adult pornography, according to the outlet. He explained that he turned to pornography as a way to cope with severe anxiety following a “bad car crash” and his sister’s cancer diagnosis.

“I hate that I became a part of this,” Eloshway said. “It breaks my heart. I have a 5-year-old daughter who is my whole world. I never intended to see any of this.”

Eloshway will also be required to pay $10,000 to a fund for human trafficking victims, along with $5,000 to two victims in images he downloaded. Eloshway’s sentence is lower than the suggested child pornography sentencing guidelines as he had no prior criminal history and passed a polygraph test where he said he “never had any intention of seeking out real children.”

Eloshway will surrender to prison after asking the court to spend one more Christmas with his daughter. The Bureau of Prisons will determine when he must begin serving his sentence.

In Touch previously confirmed that Eloshway, 40, was found guilty on July 24 of receiving, distributing, and possessing child pornography, following his conviction by an Ohio jury. The ex-TLC personality was found to have received, distributed and possessed videos that prosecutors described as “sadistic.”Mike Eloshway Aziza Mazhidov 90 Day Fiance Season 1 Cast Where Are The Couples Now

Eloshway’s lawyer argued that his client’s internet searches were “generic.” He said the reality star deleted any material that he downloaded that he believed to be illegal.

In their motion, prosecutors explained that Eloshway first came to law enforcement’s attention when his IP address was flagged by undercover officers.

Between February 2022 and March 2023, Eloshway allegedly transmitted more than 63,000 files. “Of these, approximately 4,517 files contained sadistic and masochistic content.” Eloshway sent five video files and 57 images to an undercover officer. “These files included sadistic content and depicted the rape of victims as young as a year old,” the government wrote.

On May 9, 2023, a federal search warrant was executed at Eloshway’s home where his desktop computer was seized. The father of one was voluntarily interviewed and admitted to sharing files online for approximately 20 years, the filing said. He maintained his innocence but admitted searching for explicit “teen” videos.

Prosecutors described Eloshway as “more than a casual observer,” noting that, although he admitted to deleting illegal images after viewing them, he did not delete the seven thousand images found on his desktop.

Eloshway was first introduced to reality TV viewers alongside his wife, Aziza Eloshway, on season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé, which aired on TLC from January to February 2014. The couple met on a language learning website when he was 31 and she was 21. The two married while on the franchise, and after the show, they welcomed their daughter, Olivia Joan, in January 2019.

In Touch exclusively obtained a letter Aziza wrote to the court in support of her husband, pleading for a lighter sentence. “We have a 5-year-old daughter together. Her name is Olivia and Mike is a very involved parent. She is very attached to Mike as he is a very loving and caring dad. They go on father-daughter dates all the time; they share hobbies like collecting rocks, making bread from scratch and reading books together,” she wrote in a letter exclusively obtained by In Touch. “Mike is my family and the closest person that I have, and I cannot imagine my life without him. He has a kind soul and he never shies away from helping anyone … My family is being torn apart and I know that he has been tortured by his feelings of guilt and regret for the irresponsible mistake he’s made.”
