Omitting the truth. Jihoon Lee admitted he lied to Deavan Clegg about having a full-time job on the Monday, June 22, episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The TV personality knew she was planning to uproot her life again to relocate to South Korea, and this tidbit of information could have halted those plans.

Jihoon Admits He Lied Deavan Amid Money Concerns

The couple had already been on edge because of their financial situation, which made Deavan hesitant about making the big decision to move to the country from Salt Lake City, Utah.

“It scares me that I need to rely on Jihoon to take care of my children, but I need my family together and I need Jihoon’s help. I don’t know if we’re going to have a better life over there,” she said while talking about their money woes.

The TLC alum, 23, revealed her “biggest concern” was Jihoon, 29, won’t “step up” and “take care of [them] like he promised.” Deavan addressed how he previously lied about his finances, so she was worried he was “lying again.”

Deavan must have picked up on it, because Jihoon vented to his friends about their dilemma ahead of her arrival. The TV personality was fully aware how big a responsibility it is to provide for four people, including their son, Taeyang, and her daughter from a previous relationship, Drascilla, so he tried to make extra income by doing deliveries.

However, even if he works morning, afternoon and overnight shifts, he would make $3,000 to $4,000 a month — which is not enough.

“I exaggerated to Deavan. I don’t really have a job. I have a side job doing deliveries,” he confessed. “It goes by the hour and it’s a part-time job. I lied to Deavan because if I have no money, Deavan’s not [coming] to Korea.”

Even though he felt constricted by his circumstances, Jihoon was determined to do whatever it takes to support his family. The reality star said as long as he does “two jobs” and “works without any off days,” he might be able to swing it.

By the end of the episode, Deavan was en route and reality was setting in.

Hopefully they can find a way to make ends meet!

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs on TLC Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
