90 Day Fiance’s Fernanda Flores Reflects on Divorce From Ex Jonathan Rivera: ‘I Feel Free’
After publicly celebrating her divorce, 90 Day Fiancé star Fernanda Flores is reflecting on her relationship with ex-husband Jonathan Rivera. In a new episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined, she revealed she “feels free” now that her marriage is over. Though her life has been turned upside down, she couldn’t be happier about where she ended up.
“In the past year, everything in my life changed 100 percent,” Fernanda, 21, said on the TLC show. “Jonathan and I, we met in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. And he promised me like, you know, move in with me, let’s marry, let’s have a future. I tried my best at the beginning to give us an opportunity, but things went from bad to worse. I couldn’t handle it. We were married six months until we got [separated]. The divorce is final now. We both signed the papers. I feel relief. I feel free. I feel ready to eat the world.”
She’s ready to start dating again, too. Though she told fans she was “still single and happy” on April 1, she’s since started feeling out a new relationship with Clay Harbor from The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise. After he slid into her DMs months ago, they met up for a first date, but the Mexican cutie wasn’t ready to get serious. Now that she’s had more time to process her breakup, they’re giving things another try.
Though both stars live in Chicago, they’re sticking to Zoom dates amid the coronavirus pandemic. “We’re stuck home with quarantine, [but] we figure we could have a virtual date. … It was just so normal. It felt like a real date. It felt special. It felt a good time,” Fernanda told the camera. “I can’t wait for this quarantine to be over and be able to have a real date with him, where I can be physically touching his muscles and have physical contact. … I can’t wait.”
The two have already talked about whether they want kids in the future, and it sounds like the NFL player is just the kind of man the brunette beauty is looking for. “[I want] a family-oriented guy who has values and appreciates the small things in life, who has a healthy lifestyle, ambition and a positive mindset,” Fernanda told In Touch in February, explaining she likes “tall guys [with] a cute smile, and maybe some muscles.” That definitely sounds like Clay to us!
Now that Fernanda is “free” to live her life, maybe she and Clay can “eat the world” together.
