‘90 Day Fiance’ Andrei Castravet Job: What He Does For a Living

While 90 Day Fiancé star Andrei Castravet previously came under fire by his wife Elizabeth “Libby” Potthast’s family for being a stay-at-home dad, the TLC star recently unveiled a new career path in 2020. Following in the steps of his father-in-law, Chuck Potthast, the dad of one is trying his luck in the real estate field. Keep reading to find out everything we know about Andrei’s new job.

What Did Andrei Castravet Previously Work as?

When fans were first introduced to Elizabeth and her man on season 5 of 90 Day Fiancé, they were still in a long-distance relationship and waiting for Andrei’s K-1 visa to get approved so he could enter the United States legally as Elizabeth’s fiancé. The Chisinau, Moldova native was living in Dublin, Ireland at the time and working as a bouncer at clubs.

“It is dangerous to be a bouncer, a lot of fights happen. I’m not an aggressive person in general but yes I can stand up for myself, yeah,” Andrei said in his confessional.

Following the couple’s return for season 5 of Happily Ever After, Libby’s family dug even deeper into the employment history of her partner. While visiting Moldova for Andrei and Elizabeth’s second wedding ceremony, Libby’s family learned he worked as a police officer in his country before he was “forced out” and moved to Ireland. Andrei later explained that the police force in Moldova is corrupt, and he chose not to play a role in the corruption, which is why he had to quit.

Andrei’s Unemployment Caused Major Issues With Elizabeth’s Family

Andrei’s profession, or lack thereof, caused big issues between him and Elizabeth’s dad. Her father was very open about his concern for Elizabeth, and he was worried that Andrei would not be able to provide financially as a husband for his daughter because Andrei did not have any skills that he could use to find work in America.

It also created major issues with his wife as the pair often argued over gender roles in their marriage. Andrei seemed to hint that he wanted Elizabeth to take on a more traditional Moldovan wife role and focus on cooking, cleaning and child-rearing while also working, while the men only focus on work.

Andrei and Elizabeth got into another fight over their family’s income during a dinner in a July 2020 episode. Andrei insisted he doesn’t work because Libby would prefer him to be a stay-at-home dad. “She asked me to do that because she wanted somebody trustable, and that’s me, to stay home and raise the child while she’s working,” Andrei said.

When fans caught up with Andrei and Elizabeth during the limited series 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined in April 2020, the couple opened up about how they had been adjusting to life in quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic. Libby revealed that Andrei was still not working, and she was the family’s breadwinner. Libby works as a property manager for her father’s real estate business but Chuck has cut her salary “in half each week” at the start of the pandemic. Because of Libby’s pay’s decrease, the couple often fought because of the stress over their finances.

What Is Andrei Castravet’s Job?

Andrei and Elizabeth returned for season 6 of the spinoff and revealed Andrei had just got his real estate license. The Moldova native’s Florida real estate license was granted in June 2020 and is valid until March 2024, according to licensee documentation obtained by In Touch from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

“I’m planning to open my own business and to [flip] houses,” Andrei said in April 2021. “I think I’m going to do great [with] selling a house because I know how to convince people and you know, everybody should buy from me. That’s for sure. Buy from me, cause I’m the best.”

In Touch previously confirmed Andrei and Elizabeth launched Castravet, INC, their own business together, in January 2020.Andrei is listed as the company’s president, with Elizabeth serving as the vice president. As of December 2022, Castravet, INC is listed as active.

The couple also previously owned Castravet Properties LLC, which they filed for in 2019. However, Castravet Properties LLC seems to be out of business and is listed as inactive.

On the series, Andrei revealed he planned on asking his father-in-law for a $100,000 loan to start his home flipping business. While Chuck denied his request, he offered Andrei an opportunity to work with the family business. However, upon receiving his real estate credentials, instead of working for the Potthast family business, CMP Capital Investments, LLC, Andrei opted to work for Smart Realty of Channelside, LLC, which operates as Keller Williams Realty Tampa Central.
