Showing his appreciation! Paul Staehle posted a campaign update after announcing he and Karine Staehle are accepting digital gifts as part of an “online baby shower” for their bundle of joy via GoFundMe and PayPal. The 90 Day Fiancé star thanked fans for their donations and revealed what they are saving up to buy for their unborn son, Pierre. Scroll through the gallery!
The reality star posted a new video and he started out by thanking fans for their contributions. “It helps us out a lot,” he said. Karine also made a quick appearance on camera and expressed her gratitude.
Paul, 35, and Karine, 22, are expecting their first child together in March 2019. Even though they were originally planning to go to the U.S. very soon, it looks like that won’t be happening after all.
“We’re missing a very important item,” Paul said, while addressing how fans probably took notice. “We are actually saving up to buy a crib right now. We really appreciate everybody who has contributed. We didn’t expect to get anything.”
Paul said their bills are covered, they have supplies and luckily, they are not in a “life or death” situation. “If you want to contribute and help us to make Pierre have a better life, we appreciate it, we don’t expect it,” he added.
The reality star said they have something in mind for Pierre already. “Karine wants to get a crib that’s a 3-in-1,” Paul explained. “As soon as we buy that, we’ll do an update video and show everybody the crib.”
Paul previously announced to fans that he and Karine were starting a GoFundMe campaign for an “online baby shower,” so people who wanted to send digital gifts had the opportunity to. He clearly knew the negative perception of starting one, so he made sure to set a few things straight in his bio.
The reality star said he made the GoFundMe page upon fan request. “After a large number of people asked us to create this campaign, we decided at the last minute to allow those who would like to send a digital gift to be able to,” Paul concluded.
Despite the disclaimer, it didn’t take long for the 90DF couple to face backlash. One person commented, “You really need to get a job and stop begging. How many times have you sent up PayPal and GoFundMe? Have you no shame?” Another wrote under the campaign, “Ya’ll both are losers. Get a job like the rest of us have to do.”
It looks like Paul and Karine are doing their best to brush off the nay-sayers, as they’ve been keeping fans in the loop throughout her pregnancy journey and she recently took to Instagram with an update about how little Pierre is doing.
The expectant star posted a new baby bump photo on February 18 and revealed that her belly isn’t “as big” as it appears in the pic. “The baby is underweight and it looks like I eat a lot,” she captioned the snap, translated to English. “35 weeks.”
