They’ve both extended an olive branch. 90 Day Fiancé star Nicole Nafziger is no longer at odds with Ashley Martson following their tense exchange on social media. The TLC alum revealed why she forgave Ashley while chatting with In Touch exclusively, confirming that she feels no ill will towards Ashley at all. Tension between the two cast members started when Nicole, 25, left a comment on John Yates’ Instagram post on April 19, discussing Ashley’s marital issues with her husband, Jay Smith.

“They aren’t very good at keeping secrets before the season starts,” Nicole wrote in the comment section, addressing how they’re both set to star on season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?

Obviously, it didn’t take long for Ashley, 32, to catch wind of Nicole’s response. “Maybe if your husband was around you would get sick of his s–t and post out of frustration,” she fired back, addressing Nicole’s relationship with Azan Tefou (a.k.a. Hassan M’Raouni).

Tension Brewing

“This has nothing to do with the season that’s about to air,” Ashley continued. “You are the laughing joke of TLC, everyone knows he doesn’t want you and that’s why he keeps getting denied to come here. So don’t even go there.”

Extending an Olive Branch

Nicole later deleted her comment, issued a public apology and explained how she wasn’t throwing any shade at Ashley. “She [is] a woman who put her whole heart into a relationship and has been hurt,” the reality star wrote while trying to put herself in Ashley’s shoes.

Showing Compassion

“I know most of y’all have been through something like that so there’s no need to call her names. Be [kind], always,” Nicole continued. “I’m sorry @ashleye_90 and I hope you find true happiness wherever it may come from.”

On the bright side, Ashley was also more than ready to put the drama behind her. “You’re correct and I apologize for being mean to @alwayssnicole and everyone else,” she responded with heart emojis.

Now, Nicole is sharing her side of the story. “I forgave [Ashley] because I understand what she’s going through,” the TLC alum tells In Touch exclusively.

“She’s hurt and everyone keeps saying bad things to her. She’s on the defense and I can’t blame her for that. What she said to me isn’t something new,” Nicole added. “I’ve heard it millions of times from the same people trying to defend me.”

Letting It Go

Nicole addressed how she “feels for her,” especially after Ashley reached out to her privately to clear the air. Nicole explained, “I forgave her the moment she made the comment. I’m sorry to her that she thought I was trying to throw shade.”

“I don’t speak bad to my cast members because I know what it’s like to be on the show,” Nicole added. “No one knows what’s truly happening off the screen. Love to all 90DF cast members even if I haven’t met them.”

Trials and Tribulations

Ashley expressed her regrets in a heartfelt Instagram Story posted on April 20. “I’ve just been going through a lot and I know it’s not an excuse to act the way that I’ve acted or be mean,” she wrote.

In another follow-up statement, Ashley revealed that she “DM’d [Nicole] immediately to fix it,” and addressed how she felt terrible about the mean things she said.

Ashley added, “She was not only kind enough to excepts my apology, but she also helps me get through a devastating time. I lashed out because I’m so hurt and unhappy with my own life. Not because anything Nicole did.” Hopefully things get better soon!
