Well, this is a bit of a surprise. 90 Day Fiancé star Ashley Martson actually defended her estranged husband’s alleged “side chick” on social media on June 3. Say what? The couple’s union was first rocked with a cheating scandal just one week into being married. Jay used a secret Tinder profile to talk to several women online, something that Ashley considered cheating and which has been addressed on the 90 Day franchise.

Brighter Future
Jay turned to Instagram to share a message to fans that appeared to show remorse for what he had done. He wrote, “It happens and it is what it is, I cannot go back in time and change the past … I can only create a brighter future and make up for whosoever heart I have broken.”

Her Own Hands
In the midst of the first scandal, Ashley took matters into her own hands and decided to message a woman who was trying to FaceTime Jay. She asked the woman why she was calling her husband and the woman said they met on the dating app.

Confession
The woman also claimed that Jay never told her that he was married and that they had plans to meet in person. Ashley then confronted Jay, and he confessed.

Innocent
Now, Ashley has made a surprising statement: she thinks the woman involved was innocent, and actually stood up for her on Instagram.

Did She?
Someone asked the reality TV star on Instagram, “Did the side chick ever call or text back?” They were likely referring to a scene in Happily Ever After? where Ashley attempted to call the woman who was in contact with Jay thanks to Tinder.

Ashley replied, “No, but she did today.” Well, that’s a timely twist!

She Didn’t Know
The reality star continued, “She was not thrilled they showed her photo on the show and I couldn’t agree more. She didn’t know he was married.”

Ashley concluded, “She was innocent in the situation.” It definitely seems like Ashley has cooled down a little bit since her initial reaction to the scandal.

The blonde TV star took to her Instagram Story on April 15, to expose Jay for allegedly cheating on her again. Because, supposedly, he didn’t learn his lesson the first time!

Ashley later went after the other woman she thought was involved with her husband this time around. In a now-deleted post shared April 28, she posted a photo of Jay in a backyard with a pool — as well as another photo of a woman in the sameplace.

In the caption of the post, the 90 Day Fiancé star used a hashtag to call the woman a #homewrecker and wrote, “When you want to text my phone about stealing my husband but don’t want to expose yourself, make sure I don’t have cop friends that can find out who you are.” A source close to the situation told In Touch that Jay had been seeing the woman for “months,” but he disputed that claim. “That’s a total lie right there,” he told In Touch in an exclusive statement on April 30. “I started talking to her on April 10 … And when I started talking to her, Ashley and I were broken up already.”

Calling someone a homewrecker is definitely harsher than saying they’re innocent in the situation. Clearly, Ashley has different feelings for this alleged other woman compared to the first one who almost got involved with Jay.
