What’s wrong with Karine Martins from 90 Day Fiancé? The Brazilian beauty returned with her American fiancé Paul Staehle for Season 2 of TLC’s hit reality TV series 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, and during interviews to promote the new season, her husband Paul revealed that Karine is experiencing a health scare but he didn’t really go into too much detail about what is ailing his wife.

During an interview with Sirius XM host Jenny McCarthy on The Jenny McCarthy Show, Jenny asked Paul how he was able to maintain a livable income while visiting Karine in Brazil for several months. Paul explained that he is not yet legally allowed to work in Brazil but he’s been able to work find work at companies based in the United States through the Internet and remote positions so that he can support his wife financially because she is physically unable to work.

“I make sure she has enough money to survive or get by, rent and everything is taken care of, bills [are] taken care of,” Paul said. “Currently, Karine is in a physical condition where she can’t really work. She can’t really leave the house that much. She’s getting through, everything is gonna be okay and everything is gonna work out for the best. But she really needs to focus on her health.”

He went on to explain that Karine is currently on bed rest and even though he didn’t reveal any other details about what condition Karine is currently suffering from, he said that she will eventually be okay.

“I think the biggest thing with her right now is bed rest, making [sure she gets to] her appointments, and everything will work out for the best,” he said.

In the promo clips for this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, there is a scene where Karine is being rushed to a hospital, so it seems like it will all eventually play out later this season.

90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days airs on Sundays at 8 p.m. on TLC.
