She thought it was real! Former 90 Day Fiancé stars Danielle Mullins and Mohamed Jbali are arguably the most infamous couple from the entire reality TV franchise, and for good reason. Many fans think that Danielle and Mohamed’s relationship is a textbook definition of marriage fraud and it seemed pretty clear that Mohamed was just using Danielle so that he could come to America and marry her just for a green card. But Danielle is defending herself and she took to Facebook to share screenshots of her conversations with Mohamed from early on in their relationship, seemingly proving he did love her at one point. Watch the video above to see the messages!

Because Danielle and Mohamed are no longer together — their divorce was finalized last year — they were not asked to return for Season 3 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After. But fans still like to bring up Danielle’s past with Mohamed in the comments of her social media posts, and it certainly doesn’t help that Danielle still uses her ex-husband’s last name as her handles, so it seems like she felt like she needed to address it once and for all.

“People want to know why I believed Mohamed loved and cared for me. Here are some conversations we had two to three months before he came,” she wrote on Facebook. “You fans think you know everything from watching five to ten minutes each week. You did not see our relationship behind closed doors, before the cameras and before the problems after he came. We are humans and normal like everyone else, we just choose to put our life on TV. Everyone makes mistakes. No relationship is perfect and does not have problems. I struggle every day wondering the what-if’s and wondering what is true and what is not.”
