7th Heaven's Beverley Mitchell Reveals She's Not Like Her Former Character

The former child star is shedding her good-girl image!

Beverley Mitchell, 36, who starred as Lucy Camden on 7th Heaven for 11 seasons, tells In Touch exclusively, “I am not the prude I come across as on television. I actually love swearing!”

This bit of information might come as a surprise to 7th Heaven fans, who remember her character as being the overly emotional daughter of a minister.

“In this industry, when you play a character for 11 years, you get typecast. Producers don’t think of me as a drug addict or a sexy mistress — though maybe I don’t, either!”

Beverley is now starring in an unscripted docu-comedy series called Hollywood Darlings, where she plays an exaggerated version of herself. The show co-stars fellow child actors and Beverley’s real-life friends Jodie Sweetin, Stephanie Tanner on Full House, and Christine Lakin, Al Lambert on Step by Step.

The actress, who lives in suburban Calabasas, CA. with her accountant husband, Michael Cameron, daughter Kenzie, 4, and son Hutton, 2, tells In Touch, “In real life I am not as uptight. I’m a really chill mom and get ridiculous when I’m watching sports. I scream.”

Despite the downfalls of being a child actor, Beverley admits she would still be up for a 7th Heaven reunion. “What they did with Fuller House with the same characters but a whole new concept. I think that could be a lot of fun.”

Barry Watson (Matt Camden)

As the Camden’s oldest child, Barry, 42, stayed with the show as a regular through season six, but recurred through season 10. Following his departure, he starred in the series What About Brian and Samantha Who? and made guest appearances on several different shows. In his personal life, he has been married three times, currently to Natasha Gregson Wagner (daughter of the late actress Natalie Wood), with whom he has a daughter, Clover Clementyne Watson. He has two sons from a previous marriage.

Beverley Mitchell (Lucy Camden)

Beverly, 36, stayed with 7th Heaven through all 11 seasons. In 2006, she achieved a long-held dream of becoming a country singer by recording a self-titled album, co-writing eight of the tracks featured on it. In 2010 she joined the cast of The Secret Life of the American Teenager. In 2008 she married longtime boyfriend Michael Cameron. They have two children, Hutton Michael and Kenzie.

David Gallagher (Simon Camden)

David, 32, was a regular with the series until the eighth season, when he left to attend college full-time. He recurred in seasons nine and 10, but decided not to do so for the final eleventh season. Most of his post 7th Heaven career has consisted of guest starring roles on shows like CSI: Miami, Saving Grace, The Vampire Diaries, Vegas and Criminal Minds. His film roles have included Trophy Kids, Super 8, In Your Eyes and next year’s Hallucinogen. He also voiced the character of Riku in the Kingdom Hearts video game franchise.

Catherine Hicks (Annie Camden)

Serving as the matriarch to the Camden family for the entire run of the series, Catherine, 65, went on to star in a wide variety of TV movies, (Poison Ivy: The Secret Society, Stranger With My Face, A Valentine’s Date, Borderline Murder, and Shadow of Fear), a few features (My Name is Jerry, Dorfman in Love and Reach) and some stage work (Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them, and Light Up the Sky). She’s married to special effects make up artist Kevin Yagher, who she met on their mutual 1988 feature film, Child’s Play. They have a daughter, Caitlin, who was born in 1992.

Mackenzie Rosman (Ruthie Camden)

Beyond a recurring part on Secret Life of the American Teenager, Mackenzie, 27, has only acted in a couple of films (Beneath, Ghost Shark). A great deal of her time is spent on charitable work, with her serving as an ambassador for Childhelp Inc. and as the National Honorary Chairman for Curefinders.

Lorenzo and Nickolas Brino (Sam and David Camden)

The twins, who are now 18-years-old, seem to have given up acting following 7th Heaven as there have been no updates whatsoever on their careers. They joined the show in the fourteenth episode of season three when their characters were born, and they stayed with the series until the end of the eleventh season.

Jessica Biel (Mary Camden)

As Mary, Jessica was the eldest daughter. After 7th Heaven she began starring in edgier projects such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Blade: Trinity and Stealth. She also tried her hand at more serious work in The Illusionist, Home of the Brave and Easy Virtue. In January 2007, she started dating singer/actor Justin Timberlake. They married in October 2012. They have a son together, Silas Randall Timberlake, who was born on April 11, 2015.

Stephen Collins (Eric Camden)

After playing the Camden family patriarch for 11 years, Stephen, 69, co-starred in the film Because I Said So and was a regular on the television series No Ordinary Family and Revolution. He married twice, and divorced from wife number two, Faye Grant (with whom he has a daughter, Kate) in January of this year. In October of 2014, the New York City Police Department began investigating claims that he had sexually abused minors in the past. Ultimately Stephen admitted that he had had “inappropriate sexual conduct with three female minors” in 1973, 1982 and 1994. At that point his career came to a screeching halt.
