Could we be seeing yet ANOTHER 16 and Pregnant or Teen Mom spin-off in the near future?! According to Starcasm, production crews — allegedly MTV’s — were spotted filming in south New Jersey after issuing a casting call for teenage mothers earlier this year. The site noted that either four or five mothers from the area were being filmed for the upcoming new show.

The ad explained they were looking for “young women from varying backgrounds who are facing an unplanned pregnancy and would like to share their personal story about this life-changing and complicated journey.”

“This series follows the journeys of young women as they face unexpected pregnancies and navigate the difficulties of becoming parents at a young age,” it read. “Our goal is to give viewers a look inside the realities of teen pregnancy — from morning sickness and balancing school responsibilities to navigating incredibly difficult decisions and relationships with boyfriends and/or parents, ultimately to the day of the baby’s arrival and beyond.”

Back in 2015, MTV’ former head of programming, Susanne Daniels, told The TV Page about their plans to revive the series — and now many fans are wondering if this is what we’ve been waiting for.

“We are retooling 16 and Pregnant. We decided to try something new. 16 and Pregnant was stand-alone episodes [in the past] and we are going to use the Teen Mom format for 16 and Pregnant this season,” she explained at the time.

“There are pros and cons to closed-ended programming. Obviously, you like it because it repeats and it is easy to show out of order. But there are pros to ongoing as well. We find that the Teen Mom ratings build over the course of the season as people get invested, so we thought, ‘Lets just look at that with 16 and Pregnant and see how it goes.’”

The controversial series first aired in 2009 and focused on the stories of the current Teen Mom OG stars — Amber Portwood, Farrah Abraham, Catelynn Lowell, and Maci Bookout. The following year they found success once again with today’s Teen Mom 2 girls — Chelsea Houska, Jenelle Evans, Leah Messer, Kailyn Lowry, and newcomer [originally from the short-lived Teen Mom 3] Briana DeJesus.

Teen Mom 3 — which followed the lives of Briana, Mackenzie McKee, Katie Yeager, and Alexandria Sekella — was canceled after only one season.

We definitely can’t wait to see what the network has in store for us!
