We Rewatched ‘14 Kids and Pregnant Again’ and Feel Awful for Joy-Anna Duggar

It's hard to believe there was a time when no one knew who the Duggars were, but back in 2004, the then 16-member family was just a band of eccentric nobodies when they made their TV debut in 14 Kids and Counting (also known as 14 Kids and Pregnant Again). The hour-long special was most American's first introduction to the family, and it gave a clear view of the Duggars' lives pre-fame.

But fast forward 14 years later and the family has been in the center of several controversies, from the serious ones (Josh Duggar's molestation scandal) to the light-hearted ones (Jinger Duggar wearing pants). Watching the special now knowing what the family would later become is an interesting experience that came with some shocking truths, like watching Joy-Anna Duggar have mom responsibilities at the tender age of six to the cramped rooms they shoved all 14 of their kids into. Below, 12 other thoughts we had after rewatching the show.
