Josiah Duggar’s Wife Lauren Shares Baby Bump Update: ‘This Pregnancy Hasn’t Been Easy’
She’s glowing! Pregnant Counting On star Lauren Duggar (née Swanson) took to the joint Instagram account that she shares with husband Josiah Duggar on Sunday, August 11, to share a rare baby bump photo. In the pictures, Lauren looked comfortable and stylish in a white T-shirt underneath a blue spaghetti strap maxi dress featuring a modern geometric print, and she also shared a sweet message about how grateful she is to be expecting her rainbow baby despite how difficult her second pregnancy has been.
“Life is such a gift and something I cherish more now, with all that we have gone through this past year. This pregnancy hasn’t been easy. I treasure every moment and I am reminded daily that life is truly a miracle from God. #blessed #lifeisagift #donttakelifeforgranted,” the 20-year-old wrote in the caption of two new baby bump photos.

Her sisters-in-law flooded the comments to show their support. “Beautiful mama! 💞,” Jill Duggar wrote, and Anna Duggar simply commented, “💞.”
Lauren is currently expecting her second child with Josiah — a baby girl — but their journey to parenthood has not been an easy one. Josiah, 22, and Lauren tied the knot in June 2018 and just four months later, they suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage. “A couple months ago, we found out that we were expecting, but suddenly thereafter, we lost our baby,” Lauren revealed in a TLC video clip at the time. Josiah added, “It really was a hard time for our family going through this right after we got married. And all the dreams of getting to see our little one and hold it in our hands dashed before our eyes.”
On season 9 of the family’s TLC reality TV series, fans watched as the Duggar family supported Lauren and Josiah while they mourned the loss of baby No. 1. But on May 20, the couple excitedly announced that they were expecting their rainbow baby — a baby conceived after a pregnancy loss — and they also revealed the sweet name they chose to honor their first child.
“We are so excited to announce that baby #2 is on the way!!!! It’s hard to fully express just how grateful we are for God blessing us again with another precious gift!” they wrote in their Instagram caption at the time. “So, as we rejoice of the life of our second sweet baby, we also remember (balloon as symbolism) our other sweet baby, Asa, in heaven. God is so incredibly good!”
