‘Dog the Bounty Hunter’ Star Beth Chapman’s Family Is Safe in Hawaii Amid Volcano Eruption

They're safe! Fans were extremely worried about former reality stars Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman and his wife Beth Chapman after reports about the Kilauea volcano eruption in Hawaii, which is where Dog the Bounty Hunter and Beth live. But his wife took to Instagram on Saturday, May 5 to let everyone know that where she and Dog live is actually very far from the volcano, so that means that they are safe.

"We good guys it’s not on our island… love to everyone thanks for all the concern… prayers for Puna," the 50-year-old wrote in her caption, with a photo of the Hawaiian islands. In the photo, Beth pointed out the smaller island that she is living on with her family, which is Oahu, and it is about three islands away from the big island of Hawaii.

Fans immediately flooded the comments, expressing their relief that their favorite reality TV couple is safe. "OMG, as soon i heard about the earthquake I checked my Instagram to see if u [sic] posted. I am so glad that all is well with you and family," one fan wrote, while another commented, "Glad you’re safe! We were wondering and worrying." Many of them also expressed their concern for those who do live on the big island, because they are currently weathering a scary natural disaster that has lasted for at least three days.

The Kilauea volcano erupted on Thursday, May 3 and the following day, the island was hit with a magnitude 6.9 quake struck the area, according to CNN. The earthquake was the most powerful one to hit the island since 1975, and residents endured at least dozens more earthquakes in the days after the eruption, and they also faced threats of more earthquakes, lava, and dangerous gas. Many of them were forced to evacuate their homes.
