Reese Witherspoon’s arrest video has surfaced— and it's every bit as embarrassing as you would imagine.
The night after she admitted to Good Morning America that she panicked and said “all kinds of crazy things” during her arrest on April 19 in Atlanta, footage of the incident has gone public.
TMZ has obtained the videos, which show her husband Jim Toth being arrested and Reese coming to his defense against the arresting officer’s orders.
As reported, she says things to the cop like: “Do you know my name sir?” "I’m an American citizen…I’m allowed to stand on American Ground,” “You’re about to find out who I am!” and “I’m obstructing your justice?!”
She even warns the cop, "You better not arrest me!"
In another clip, the mother of three tells the officer she’s pregnant and that she needs to pee. She confirmed to GMA that she is not actually pregnant, and that she was only trying to get out of the situation at the time being.
Jim was arrested for a DUI and Reese was booked for disorderly conduct after she refused to listen to orders.
But then Jim threw her under the bus!
Following Reese’s tirade, Jim apologized to the cop, saying, "I'm sorry, I had nothing to do with that!" The agent was given a breathalyzer test, but he blew too hard and was asked to try it a second time.
“It's just completely unacceptable and we are so sorry and embarrassed,” the 37-year-old said about the incident. "We went out to dinner in Atlanta and we had one too many glasses of wine. We thought we were fine to drive and we absolutely were not…We know better and we shouldn't have done that."
The pair reportedly owned up to it all yesterday – pleading no contest (Reese) and guilty (Jim). The CAA agent, who was present in court, will do no jail time. He’ll owe 40 hours of community service, go through an alcohol education program and be on probation for a year. Reese was represented by her lawyer and will have to pay a $213 fine.
