After being diagnosed with a rare blood disorder, the day has come for Robin Roberts to receive a bone marrow transplant.

It’s a big day for Robin Roberts. The 51-year-old Good Morning America anchor will receive a bone marrow transplant from her sister, Sally-Ann, today in a New York hospital.
After being diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome — a rare blood disorder — the anchor took extended leave from her television show in August to undergo treatment, including eight days of intensive chemotherapy.
Now, the biggest day in her recovery process has arrived — transplant day.
"This journey is as much about the mind as it is the body," Roberts said in a recorded video message that aired on GMA today. "Thoughts are so powerful. You've got to change the way you think in order to change the way you feel.”
Roberts, also a breast cancer survivor, is no stranger to supportive fans and continued outpour of well wishes. She remains strong and accredits her supporters for her high spirits leading up to the procedure.
"YOU give me the courage to keep going," Robin told her fans. “I feel the love and I thank you for it. Thank you."
