It’s not just that Miley Cyrus can’t stop—she can’t be stopped.
In a new interview with Cosmopolitan, the 21-year-old cover girl opens up about what it’s like to have everyone rooting against you, her now infamous VMA performance, love life, haters and more!
Despite living a life that she describes as “chaotic and crazy,” Miley insists that she’s having the “best time ever and everything is falling into place like it’s supposed to”—even with all the critics and haters she’s collected along the way.
“Even people who want to hate on me, they can’t even shut down the fact that I’m literally what everyone is talking about,” she told the women’s mag. “I don’t want to say that I’m on top right now—I feel like I’m kind of an underdog in a cool way… Like, society wants to shut me down.”
Miley also made it clear that she feels the same way about everyone—even the famous faces that have criticized her antics lately. She told Cosmo that she “doesn’t care” about the stars who spoke out and dissed her performance—because she was just being Miley!
“I think everyone would have given anything to be at that moment, because I was being one hundred percent true to myself—not many people can say that,” she revealed.
She continued, “At the end of the day, I would say I’m a nice person and I take price in the fact that I treat everyone really well, so there’s no reason for anyone to ever come at me because I only want the best for everybody else.”
The always considerate Miley also opened up about her love life right now—which has been the subject of a lot of speculation since her split with her former fiancée Liam Hemsworth.
Despite reports romantically linking her with the likes of magazine heir Theo Wenner and producer Mike WiLL Made It, she insists there’s only one love in her life—her music.
“I need to treat my music like a relationship—give it time and all the attention it deserves—and that’s my main love right now,” she said. “This is the best time of my life. I’m not going to look back on it and be like, ‘I wish I hadn’t been dwelling over a breakup,’ you know?”
