Lea and Cory, 31, met on the set of Glee in 2009. Their characters, Rachel Berry and Finn Hudson, were love interests on the show. Life began to imitate art in 2012, when the couple officially announced that they were dating. The pair was inseparable ever since.
On July 13, Cory was found dead in his room at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel after overdosing on heroin and alcohol.
In a recent interview with Marie Claire Mexico, prior to the Cory’s death, Lea called her boyfriend, “the best person I know.”
"It’s more interesting having a relationship with someone you work with because we get more attention because we play boyfriend and girlfriend on the show and we are also in real life," Lea told the magazine, adding, "It is important to have someone that supports you and encourage you, someone that makes you feel that you are unstoppable, that you can do anything in the world because you have him."
Last week, Lea and Glee’s creator Ryan Murphy hosted a memorial service for the fallen actor at the Paramount Studio lot, where the show is filmed. The entire Glee cast and crew came out to honor Cory in an emotional celebration filled with memories and music.
"It has been a very difficult rollercoaster ride,” Ryan revealed to Deadline.com. “All through that, and through the last week, Lea has been the most brave and courageous person I've ever met. She has dealt with an impossible situation with more humanity than you could ever hope for."
