'Glee' Co-Stars Create an Arts Scholarship in Cory Monteith's Name
On Monday, actor Kevin McHale, who plays Artie on the hit FOX series, posted a photo to his Instagram honoring his fallen friend.
“So thankful that I and so many of you got to experience Cory's overwhelming kindness, humor and talent,” he writes in the caption, and added, “There will not be a day that goes by that I won't miss him. Thank you all for your incredible support and patience.”
Lea Michele Speaks About Cory Monteith: “Cory Will Forever Be In My Heart.”
Kevin’s message follows one by Cory’s girlfriend, Lea Michele, who expressed her love for the fallen actor on Twitter only an hour before.
"Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support," the actress wrote. “Cory will forever be in my heart.”
Over the past two weeks, Cory’s fellow Glee cast mates have been honoring the late actor in their own personal ways. Matthew Morrison, who plays Will Schuester on the show, dedicated a song at his most recent concert to his friend.
On The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jane Lynch choked back tears as she recalled fond memories of Cory.
“Cory had one of the biggest hearts, a real bright light. He was one of those guys. He knew he was breathing rarefied air – the gift that this wonderful show gave us,” she explained, and added, “He was one of those guys who was always aware that it was a gift. He was quite generous and one of those adventurous types of people who would – he’d fly to Mexico, he’d throw parties for his friends.”

Though Cory is gone, he certainly will not be forgotten.
“Cory is so deserving of that place in everyone’s hearts,” says co-star Dianna Agron. “He was one of the most generous and kind people that I have ever met. He had a smart, curious mind, he was an enormous talent. He was loving to not only me, but my family. My heart goes out to his family, to Lea, to everyone that is struggling with the loss of our friend. We will miss you Cory. We will always carry a piece of you with us.”
