The baby weighs 8lbs 6oz.

The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.
Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well and will remain in hospital overnight.
The news was officially announced with this proclamation on an easel, signed by the doctor who led Kate's delivery team.
Breaking in royal tradition, Kate will be spending her first six weeks as a new mother at her parents’ home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, England. Prince William will also be receiving two weeks of paternity leave to spend time with his wife and newborn son.

As for the name of the baby, we’ll have to wait a little bit longer for that big announcement!
