The last known video of Cory Monteith – taped on a flight to Vancouver before his shocking July 13 death – has surfaced.
In the chilling 15-second video, the late actor films himself giving advice to a fan, encouraging her to “stay out of trouble and stay in school.”
The 31-year-old Glee star was found dead in his room at Vancouver’s Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel last Saturday. Earlier this week it was released that Cory had overdosed from a lethal combination of drugs, including heroin and alcohol. He was in town visiting friends after completing his second stint in rehab last May.
The actor had battled with drug addiction his entire life, admitting that he began using at the tender age of 13.
Though Cory had his troubles, he should be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and talent. Throughout the week, Cory’s co-stars have been speaking out about their fallen friend.
Dianna Agron, who plays Quinn Fabray on Glee, released a statement. “I have never lost a friend. In this difficult time, I am leaning on all of the wonderful memories we shared with Cory, how many ways he was able to make us smile," she said.
"Cory had one of the biggest hearts, a real bright life. He was one of those guys. He knew he was berating rarefied air — the gift that this show gave us," his co-star Jane Lynch explained, in an interview with Jay Leno.
She added, "He was one of those guys who was always aware that it was a gift. He was quite generous and one of those adventurous types of people who would — he'd fly to Mexico, he'd throw parties for his friends."
Cory’s girlfriend and co-star Lea Michele has yet to release her own statement, but sources close to the starlet say she is completely devastated and “in a haze of disbelief.”
