While little girls aspire to be Christina Aguilera when they grow up, the Voice coach aspires to be a crackhead— but only in the movies, of course.
For the Billboard and Hollywood Reporter 2012 Film & TV Music conference, the “Beautiful” singer, sat down to discuss her big-screen ventures and past experiences in acting– most recently her role opposite Cher in the film Burlesque.
"I sort of had this personal aspiration to do film, but I said, ‘I never want to do a musical! It's too much like myself," she says of her decision to stay away from specific roles...that is, until Burlesque caught her eye.
"I do want to do more acting," the star reveals. "I want to do something where I can really sink my teeth into something a little more challenging. Really outside of myself, outside of music."
So what role would really push Xtina’s limits as an actress?
"A crackhead on the street or a drug addict. Or something crazy and meaty and juicy,” she admits of her dream part. "I want it to be honest and genuine in expanding my wings and doing something really, really different. Something that really took me out of myself.”
But with the mom’s seemingly “safe” role choices thus far, how will she fare tapping into her dark side for future parts? We think she’ll be just fine.
"It's hard being such a powerful woman in the business,” Christina says of her headstrong attitude. "I learned early on you can't always be warm and fuzzy because you'll be bulldozed right over."
