Miley Cyrus’s new video may be making some fans blush—but don’t think that means her dad hasn’t seen it!
Not only has dad Billy Ray Cyrus seen the video, but he’s supporting his daughter’s provocative display… we think.
He told Entertainment Tonight’s Nancy O’Dell that he’s “a song man” from humble and traditional beginnings, but that he still supports his daughter’s exhibitionist-like actions.
“It wouldn't have mattered if Miley would have worn jeans and a flannel shirt ...a tux ...or a nuns habit,” he said. “The song's a smash ...and her performance vocally on the tune reflects her roots and sheer God given talent.”
Of course, Miley’s video didn’t feature any of those things—but rather the 20-year-old naked atop a wrecking ball.
This isn’t the first time the 50-year-old dad has supported his daughter’s unconventional behavior. After her controversial performance, he told ET that he’ll always be there for Miley—no matter what.
“She’s still my little girl and I’m still her dad regardless how this circus we call show business plays out.,” he said at the time. “I love her unconditionally and that will never change.”
Most recently, Miley has taken the criticism into her own hands; she appeared on Z100 and spoke about how her song and video alike are raw emotion and baring all—figuratively if not literally.
“I think the video is much more,” she said of the emotional ballad. “If people get past the point I make, and you actually look at me, you can tell I look more broken than even the song sounds.”
Miley’s video for ‘Wrecking Ball’ broke records, when it beat out One Direction’s ‘Best Song Ever’ for the most views within 24 hours with more than 10.9 million views.
