Editor's Note: While Teresa still plans to make an appearance, any fundraising efforts for this evening have since been cancelled by the restaurant and those associated.
After being charged with fraud and accused of lying about bankruptcy, at least there's one thing that Teresa Giudice won't have to worry about--paying her legal bill. There's a fundraiser to that!
On Thursday night, MaliBlue Oyster Bar, an iconic Long Island restaurant, is hosting a fundraiser to ease the pain of the hefty legal bill facing the Real Housewives of New Jersey star.
“We believe Teresa will be vindicated soon but in the meantime, we are collecting funds to aid her defense,” a spokesperson for the restaurant said. “She has four young children who desperately need her in their lives.”
The group explained that in addition to any bill that the star collected while defending her innocence, they are also dedicated to securing funds that will contribute to fines that the Giudices receive in lieu of, or along with, a prison sentence.
The 41-year-old mom of four tweeted, inviting guests to come to the Malibu Beach Resort, as she’ll be there for an hour.
Like those acting with the restaurant—and sister-in-law, RHONJ cast mate and rival Melissa Gorga—Teresa’s priority is her children, which means she is maintaining the life she’s always lived.
“I am committed to my family and intend to maintain our lives in the best way possible, which includes continuing my career,” she said.
