Kids are not in the cards for one of America’s most beloved gay couples.
In a new interview with Out Magazine, Portia de Rossi breaks the news that she and her wife, Ellen DeGeneres are just fine—actually, they’re incredibly happy— without children in the mix.
"There comes some pressure in your mid-30s, and you think, Am I going to have kids so I don’t miss out on something that other people really seem to love?" the actress, 40, says. "Or is it that I really genuinely want to do this with my whole heart? I didn't feel that my response was 'yes' to the latter."
But it wasn’t only Portia who didn't have the desire for little ones. Ellen, 55, whom she wed five years ago, is also opposed to having children.
"You have to really want to have kids, and neither of us did,” Portia admits. “So it's just going to be me and Ellen and no babies."

With both ladies in the midst of their booming careers— Ellen as an award-winning talk show host and Portia as a star on the popular comedy televison show, Arrested Development— they’re perfectly happy as a dynamic duo.
"We've settled into happily married life," she gushes. ""We really support each other in whatever we're doing and we're incredibly happy, which is why you don't see us in the press so much. There's no drama to report."
While we can’t help but swoon over the broods of other famous gay couples— Elton John and David Furnish, Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka, Rosie O’Donnell and Michelle Rounds, among others— Portia and Ellen are purely awesome as a pair.
"Married life is blissful, it really is," Portia told the mag. "I've never been happier than I am right now."
