What’s eating Amanda Bynes? Ever since the 26-year-old announced her “retirement” from acting two years back, she’s been involved in a string of bizarre incidents, arrests and car accidents, the most recent of which, it was recently reported, could very well land her in jail.
Amanda first became famous as a star of Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy show All That, and starred in a number of popular movies, including Hairspray and Easy A, before deciding to chuck it all in 2010. Now, she’s best known as a repeat hit-and-run offender, although she was also arrested for driving under the influence in April 2012.
There’s no word on what’s causing Amanda’s positively Lohan-esque spiral, but an arraignment later this month in Los Angeles for two separate hit-and-runs, on April 10 and August 4, should at least put the former child star one step closer to finding out her fate. She faces as much as a year in jail, if convicted, and while other accident-prone celebs have gotten out in much less time, it will be interesting to see whether Amanda’s frequent-offender status inspires the judge to throw the book at her.
