Even the Gladiator has marital problems!
After nine years of marriage, Aussie actor Russell Crowe, 48, and his wife Danielle Spencer, 43, have reportedly split.
The pair began their relationship when they co-starred together in the 1990 film The Crossing, where their on-screen romance eventually led to off-screen love. Russell proposed to the Australian singer in 2002, and they’ve been living down under ever since.
Over the past year, Russell and Danielle’s schedules have been extremely busy, with both taking on various new projects. In the last year alone, Russell has filmed Man with the Iron Fist, Les Miserables, Broken City, Man of Steel and Noah, with Danielle competing on the most recent season of Australia’s Dancing With the Stars.
So was their split was due to their strenuous career demands or did their time apart just add fuel to the fire?
After rumors swirled about Danielle’s newfound friendship and potential romance with her DWTS dance partner Damian Whitewood, it’s hard to say what the exact reason is for the Crowe's breakup, though it’s easy to speculate.
Their split is said to be amicable with the best interests in mind for the pair's two sons, Charles, 8, and Tennyson, 6.
