'Love & Hip Hop: New
York' Star Yandy Smith
Explains How Life Is
While Mendeeces Harris
Serves Jail Time
Yandy Smith's world was rocked when her husband, Mendeeces Harris, was sentenced to eight years in jail on drug charges at the end of 2015, but the Love & Hip Hop: New York star exclusively assured In Touch that they are still going strong despite their adversities.
The mother-of-two revealed they even got to speak more than once on Valentine's Day!
"He called in the morning, then he called in the evening. I'd like to think because he loves me so much, but part of me thinks he just wanted to make sure I was home with the kids. And not doing anything but being home loving up on those babies!" she quipped.

Yandy then went on to explain how the couple keeps things ~fresh~ while Mendeeces serves his sentence.
"The good thing is, we get to see each other every week. I get to see him Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. So if I'm not booked on a Friday, I'm there every Friday, but then I'll go on a Saturday or Sunday if I'm booked," she explained. "And then he can email so he emails me like text messaging. So we can email like, 20 times a day if we want to. So it really doesn't feel like he's not present, because I'm always talking to him at least five times a day and then I see him on the weekends."
She continued, "But the only thing I do miss is laying at night and help with the kids, but other than that he has a huge presence in our lives."
While times may be tough, the couple remains hopeful that he will be home sooner than later.
"We put in a motion for something to happen so we'll see," Yandy said. "We definitely appealed and we'll see what happens."
In Touch spoke with Yandy at Mona Scott Young's "50 Shades of Fabulous" birthday party, produced by Nikkia McClain of Tene Nicole, Marketing and Public Relations and Latoya Shambo of Black Girl Digital.
