Jason Brock might have been eliminated last night on The X Factor, but “Mr. Entertainment” ended up achieving the unthinkable — he got Simon Cowell to say sorry.
“He did apologize to me,” Jason tells In Touch. “He just said sorry.”
On Wednesday night’s movie-themed episode, Simon shocked fans when he made an insensitive joke about Jason following his performance of “I Believe I Can Fly.”
And while some thought Simon’s jab insinuated that Jason couldn't sing, the 37-year-old felt it meant something entirely different.
“Simon said I couldn't fly and could maybe only go 2 inches off the ground. He basically made fun of me because I was fat,” Jason explains to In Touch. “It was terrible. I was ready to cry all day.”
And while the San Francisco native is admittedly sad to be leaving the show, he says that knowing he doesn’t have to impress Simon anymore is a relief.
“It was hard getting that kind of feedback and I wondered if it would go on forever because I don't think Simon liked who I was,” he says. “There is relief in that I don't have to try to win anymore, but I am proud that I made it this far."
To see more of Simon's contestant critiques, tune in to The X Factor airing Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
