What happened to Azan on 90 Day Fiancé? He was very visibly missing during the tell-all special, leaving his fiancée Nicole to attend the taping alone while the rest of their castmates had their significant others by their side. Azan was scheduled to call in via Skype to video chat with host Shaun Robinson at some point during filming, and Nicole tried to get in contact with Azan via text messages and phone calls during each commercial break but he didn’t answer any of her calls.

It was strange behavior, but it’s not unlike Azan to ghost his fiancée. In the beginning of the season, Nicole had a hard time getting in contact with him before she embarked on her two-month-long visit to Morocco with her daughter May, which he blamed on bad WiFi and phone service. At the taping, Nicole said she hadn’t heard from Azan in three days and she was concerned that something bad happened to him. But it seems like Azan was deliberately ignoring Nicole and other members of the production team during the tell-all taping because he finally called Nicole back after the cameras stopped rolling, according to TLC.

Nicole was very upset throughout the two-hour special and towards the end, she even broke down in tears because she was upset that Azan left her to fend for herself and go through a tough line of questioning about her choices regarding her relationship with him — like Nicole sending money to Azan overseas and getting physically violent towards him during their arguments.

But her Season 5 castmates — who have all been through the 90-day process and are already married — have a theory as to why Azan is MIA all of a sudden. They felt that he was avoiding the taping because he didn’t want to have to answer questions about their relationship. They also said that it could be because he is getting cold feet about moving to America and marrying Nicole now that they are only weeks away from his interview, which will determine if he will be granted the visa or not.
