It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Bethenny Frankel, who went public with her split and filed for divorce from her husband, Jason Hoppy, on Jan. 5 — but the star hit an all-time low when she broke down on national TV.
On yesterday’s taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, guest star Bethenny began crying while discussing her personal life.
“I feel like a bit of a disappointment to all of you and I feel like a failure,” Bethenny said, tearing up on camera. “I really put it out there- I wanted the fairy tale, I thought I had it."
Bethenny’s breakdown left fans feeling sorry for the usually-peppy star. “We all just wanted to give her a great big hug and tell her we loved her!" an audience member told In Touch. "It's weird to see our little tough cookie crumbling like that, but that's why we love her so much,” another guest added.
And as In Touch reported, the split has been impacting Bethenny, both emotionally and physically.
"Poor thing. She is obviously just going through a really tough time,” another guest shared. “She's just so little and it was obvious how this is all taking a toll on her."
But now that Bethenny, who has a 2-year-old daughter, Bryn, with Jason, has finally begun taking the next steps, her fans are hoping the once-confident Skinnygirl will bounce back even stronger.
“Some people are so supportive and some people are judgmental,” Bethenny confessed of her divorce. “I don’t know how people go through this, because this is excruciating.”
Bethenny’s appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show will air today at 4 p.m. on NBC.
