Actor Ron Lester, who was best known for his role as Billy Bob in the 1999 film Varsity Blues, has passed away in Texas at the age of 45.
The actor had been suffering from liver and kidney issues and died before 9 p.m. local time, his agent Dave Bradley confirmed on Facebook.

The star had been hospitalized for the past four months, and his agent reveals that the actor passed away while with his fiancée and was not in pain.
Ron rose to fame when he starred in the famous football flick, alongside actors Paul Walker and James Van Der Beek, and went on to appear in Not Another Teen Movie and Good Burger.
The actor famously battled weight issues, and weighted 508 pounds before undergoing — and nearly dying during — gastric bypass surgery. He went on to lose more than 300 pounds, and later found love with Jennifer Worland.
Our hearts go out to his family and friends.
