It seems like the Duggar family is always celebrating someone’s birthday! Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar may have stopped at 19 biological kids, but many fans are unaware that there’s a 20th Duggar child and his name is Tyler Duggar. The former reality TV star adopted the little boy in 2016 and they took to Facebook on Saturday, Feb. 10 to share a sweet tribute to Tyler on his second birthday in the Duggar household.
“Happy 10th birthday Tyler, a whole decade now! You are such a joy and a delight! We are so thankful for you! We wish you a happy birthday and look forward to another great year!!” Jim Bob and Michelle wrote in their caption on the Duggar family’s official Facebook.

They shared two new, never-before-seen photos of Tyler with their biological son Jackson, and another photo of Tyler with their biological daughters Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace, and Josie. While many fans flooded the comments section wishing the 10-year-old a happy birthday, some of them were confused about Tyler — especially because his name didn’t fit in with the “J” name theme that Jim-Bob and Michelle kept for their 19 other children.
“Happy Birthday young man…Tyler. But, who is Tyler? All Duggar names start with a J,” one fan wrote, and another commented, “Who is Tyler? I thought all there [sic] kids’ names started with a J? Did they adopt?”
The confusion is understandable since the Duggar family didn’t formally announce that they made a new addition to their family. The first time that the Duggars made a reference to Tyler was last February when they shared a tribute to him on his ninth birthday on Facebook.
“We are so glad to have you in our home and a part of our family! Your bright smile and sweet spirit brings much joy to us all!” Jim Bob and Michelle wrote at the time. “Jackson loves having a ‘little brother/cousin’ to ride bikes and play with and read your Bibles together. Our prayer is that each day you will seek God’s will for your life, and that God will use your life in a great way.”
