UPDATE: Tracy Morgan
Released from Rehab
Center, Sues Walmart
for Negligence in
Fatal Car Crash
Tracy Morgan has been released from the rehab center he has been staying at where he has been “continuing to show signs of improvement.”
Tracy's reps confirm to In Touch Weekly, "Tracy has been released from the rehabilitation center and will continue his recovery efforts at home with an aggressive outpatient program."
The 45-year-old comedian recently filed a lawsuit against Walmart after being severely injured in a six-car collision that left two other people critically injured and killed Tracy’s friend.
As it's been reported, Kevin Roper, the truck driver that sparked the crash, was a Walmart driver who had been awake for more than 24 hours prior to the incident and reportedly driven 700 miles from his home to the distribution center.
“Wal-Mart was careless and negligent in the ownership and operation of its motor vehicle, which caused Mr. Morgan to suffer severe personal injuries,” papers filed in the U.S. District Court in N.J. stated.
“As a direct and proximate result of said collision, Mr. Morgan was caused to sustain severe painful bodily injuries, including but not limited to multiple fractures which required multiple surgeries, extensive medical treatment and will require significant physical rehabilitation.”
The driver has pleaded not guilty to one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.
