Margarita Suárez dedicated her life to taking care of stray dogs in her community. And when she passed away, the dogs she cared for returned the favor — by coming to the funeral and standing guard as her loved ones said their final goodbyes.
While the dogs weren’t exactly “invited” to the service, her daughter Patricia Urrutia considered them to be a welcome surprise.

“They stayed with my mother all day, and then at night they all stayed — but in the morning, all the dogs vanished by one, but one hour before we brought my mom to be cremated the dogs came back and grouped around as if to say goodbye,” she told ABC News.
“I swear by God that it was beautiful, marvelous.”
The tribute by Margarita’s furry friends was unlike anything anyone in her Mexico community had seen before. But the unexpected guests were able to ease Patricia during her time of grief.
She explained, “When I was in a moment of so much pain, these dogs that came in, they showed me that everything was going to be okay.”
