There is nothing easy or enjoyable about surviving in the Brazilian highlands - just ask Jerry Sims, the third contestant voted off Survivor: Tocantin. When he developed a serious stomachache, which he tried to hide from his Timbira tribe, he knew his game was in jeopardy. "I started having that problem on day three, the 49-year-old Army sergeant tells In Touch. When his tribe lost their second immunity challenge in a row they didn't waste any time eliminatating the weakest link. But Jerry doesn't hold any grudges. "The weakest link in the tribe should go home, and at that point, it was me," admits Jerry.

So, you didn't look like you were doing too well by day seven. Were the beans really to blame for your stomachache?
Jerry: I really don't know. It could have been the beans, but I'm really not sure.
Do you think the lack of food had anything to do with it?
Jerry: I don't think so because when I did eat the beans, that's when my stomach hurt really badly. So, I'm not totally sure what happened.
When you got out of Brazil, did you feel better?
Jerry: Yeah. I'm fine now. I went to my doctor and he said everything was normal, so I'm fine.
Do you think that you could have kept going in the game even with your stomach problems?
Jerry: I was pretty sure I would have made it a lot further if I didn't get sick. I was trying to tough it out and do it until I could get rid of it. But my stomach wasn't getting any better at all. I'm not mad at anybody for the way the vote went. That's life, things happen.
Who do you think should have gone home?
Jerry: I voted for Erinn. But the weakest link in the tribe should go home, and at that particular point, it was me.
So you admit that you were a weak link in the Timbira tribe?
Jerry: Oh, yeah, I sure was. I performed a whole lot better in the beginning. There are no excuses. It happened and I regret it happened, but I have to put that in the past and drive on with life.
Did you lost any weight while you were there?
Jerry: I lost about 12 to 15 pounds.
Wow. What was the first meal you indulged in when you got back to civilization?
Jerry: I wanted a pizza and a Coke.
Would you do it all over again if you had the chance?
Jerry: Probably not.
I appreciate your honesty.
Jerry: One time is enough. I think if I were a lot younger I'd say yes. But I'm going to be 50 this year, so probably not!
