Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller-Sheen's newborn son Max, who was born with his twin brother, Bob, on March 14, remains in the hospital because he is underweight, not due to a heart condition, as previously reported. "The twins are fine," a close friend of Brooke's exclusively tells In Touch. "There were feeding issues with Max and everything else is fine. Babies can't go home until they are eating a certain amount. Max isn't hooked up to machines or anything like that - he is in a bassinet. Bob has been home, and Max is expected to be home soon, as well." The new mom's friend adds, "Brooke is doing great - she and Charlie are happy. They aren't worried."
After it was erroneously reported that the baby had a heart problem, the couple's rep released a statement to the media. "Max is expected to reach the weight requirement shortly and will join his brother at home," the rep said. "The Sheens appreciate the outpouring of concern but have assured everyone that both Bob and Max are fine." Charlie added: "The weight issue is very common among infants who were born before reaching full-term. I know a lot of people are not fond of hospital food - I just didn't realize they that started so young."
