If you don’t learn from your mistakes, you’re bound to repeat them; which is why the girls of Teen Mom 3 would be open to showing their daughters the footage from their shows, Teen Mom and 16 & Pregnant.
Alex Sekella, Briana Dejesus and Katie Yeager explained to MTV that they plan to keep an open conversations with their daughters and that they’d definitely use the program to be educational when the time is appropriate.
“I want Arabella to learn, from watching it, like, ‘Don’t do that, don’t do this,’” Alex explained. “Mommy made all these horrible mistakes and you don’t want to be in any type of those environments or situations.”
Briana agreed with that sentiment, saying that she wants to teach Nova right from wrong, but she has some hesitations about everything the show may expose her daughter to.
“I want to show her [the show], but then I’m scared, like, I don’t want her to hate me because it looks like I’m not letting her father into her life,” Briana said.
But as Katie reminded Briana, it will teach Nova, Molli and Arabella about their self-worth if the Teen Mom 3 stars “incorporate the strength independence and wisdom into their lives.”
The girls remarked that their daughters already like seeing their families on TV, and that, when the time is right, it will make for an important lesson too.
“It’s not like we’re stupid, every teenager makes mistakes, you just have to learn from them,” Alex said. “If you don’t learn from them you’re just going to keep going downhill.”
