In just 23 years, Leah Messer has been through a lot.
On the heels of In Touch revealing she finalized her divorce from her second husband, Jeremy Calvert, from rehab, a new report claims the Teen Mom 2 star had an incredibly hard upbringing.

“She had a very rough time growing up,” an insider reveals to Radar Online. “Many people, even her close friends, don’t know that she dealt with a lot of pain and suffering when she was a very young girl.”
This source claims she allegedly turned to prescription painkillers to deal with her traumatic childhood.
“Of course she is getting help for her drug problem, but she is also learning to cope with her past,” the insider continues
According to the Radar report, family members have seen her “sobbing in a state of panic” for no apparent reason. And, back in 2014, the source claims Jeremy begged her to get help, though she refused at first.
It's a really tough time for the reality star, who is also allegedly facing a custody battle with her first ex-husband, Corey Simms, over the former couple’s five-year-old twins, Aleeah and Aliannah.
As In Touch previously reported, Leah — who’s also mom to two-year-old daughter Adalynn with Jeremy — checked into a Utah rehab facility on May 21.
“She’s being treated for depression and stress,” a source told the mag. “She’s always put other people’s needs ahead of her own, and her mental health suffered because of it.”
