Just when you thought Taylor Swift’s music was becoming predictable, she turns back around and surprises us!

The country-pop star has been releasing one track a week until her new album Red debuts on Oct. 22, but her most recent tune reveal of “I Knew You Were Trouble” seems a bit out of the ordinary.

Taylor sings about love gone wrong (yet again), but hey…if it ain’t broke, right? This time instead of a pop-country fusion, the hit-maker experiments with dubstep, a type of electronic dance music that shows off the star’s edgier side.

Taylor revealed to Good Morning America that “Trouble” is one of her favorite songs on the album because it “sounds just as chaotic as the feeling was when I wrote it.”

So who was her new tune penned about?

“A new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be/ And now I see, now I see, now I see/ He was long gone when he met me/ And I realize the joke is on me,” she sings in “Trouble.”

Out of all of Taylor’s former flames, we’d have to guess John Mayer is behind this one, as he’s the most notorious for breaking hearts.

POLL: Which of Taylor’s exes do you think “I Knew You Were Trouble” is about?
