He outwitted, outplayed and outlasted his competitors to win 2002's
Survivor: Africa but now Ethan Zohn faces another next challenge -- cancer. After months of unexplained itching and night sweats, Ethan was diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin’s Disease. “My life flashed before my eyes,” Ethan told People of his April 30 diagnosis. Though Hodgkin's typically has a high cure rate, Ethan was found to have CD20 -- positive Hodgkin’s
Lymphoma -- a rare form of the disease which needs to be treated by a more
aggressive three-month chemotherapy regime. “This is the ultimate game of
Survivor,” Ethan, 35, told People,” and there’s really only one outcome, and
that’s to win. There is no other option. I’m not getting voted out of this
one.” Ethan's longtime girlfriend, Survivor: The Amazon winner Jenna
Morasca, who both lost parents to cancer, says she will stand by her man.
“I will fight with every fabric of my being to get him through this,” she
told the magazine.
