Stars Stand With Human
Rights Campaign By
Taking Part In ‘Love
Campaign To Support
Stars such as Wentworth Miller, Ricky Martin, Kristen Bell, Jonah Hill and more are sending a message to Russian with love; they are standing with Human Rights Campaign—the largest gay rights organization in the US—by donning the Russian-langue version of their iconic “Love Conquers Hate” t-shirt to show support for the gay community in Russia.
In June, Russian implemented an “anti-propaganda” law that prohibits any public gestures of support of the LGBT community; with the upcoming winter Olympics being held in Sochi, HRC is hoping the gay community and allies alikes will send a powerful message to Russia.
“Love and equality are universal values that aren’t limited by language or national borders,” HRC president Chad Griffin said. “We stand with Russians LGBT community and their allies, and we are committed to doing as much as we possibly can to support their efforts to repeal this heinous law.”
For this particular campaign, the stars will not only snap a picture of themselves wearing the special Russian-language version of the shirt, but also share it on social media—and then ask their fans and followers to do the same.
For those thinking of purchasing a shirt, 100% of net proceeds from the shirts sold will go to a fund that supports LGBT advocates in Russia. For information on how to get involved, check out LoveConquersHate.org—and check out which of your favorite stars are already rockin’ their shirts!
